Soleimani Death: Iran provoked the United States - Germany

The German Government has backed the United States military strike in Baghdad on Thursday night that killed the Head of Iran Elite Spy Agency, General Soleimani, blaming the Iranian government for provoking the United States.

In a news conference by government spokeswoman, Ulrike Demmer, the German government defended the action of the United States and stated that it will work to de-escalate the situation.

"The American action was a reaction to a series of military provocations for which Iran is responsible.

"We also see with great concern Iran's activities in the region. We stand before a dangerous escalation, " she said.
