Nigerians React To Buhari Claim That Nigerians Should Stop Going Overseas For Treatment


On Friday, January 4th, 2020, Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari urges Nigerians to stop going abroad for medical treatment.

The president who was represented by the Minister of Science and technology, Ogbonnaya Onu stated this during the inauguration and handover of completed projects to the management of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki.  

 The President, who himself had travelled to the United Kingdom for treatment on several occasions, said, “Nigerians have suffered so much going abroad for medical treatment. This is not good for us and it must stop because we can’t afford it again."
