Macaire was allegedly arrested following a protest in Iran that resulted from the recent attack on a Ukranian plane by the Iranian Army.

The plane crashed killing all 176 people on board.

In a series of tweets, in reply to a protest that happened in the Middle East country, Trump asked Iran to stop persecuting its people.

Among the demands made by Trump to the leaders of Iran include that they should not kill those protesting against the tragedy that befell a Ukranian plane after it was struck by missiles.

"Thousands have already been killed or imprisoned by you, and the world is watching.

“More importantly, the USA is watching. Turn your internet back on and let reporters roam free! Stop the killing of your great Iranian people!” Trump said.

On her part, Morgan Ortagus, the mouthpiece of the US state department, warned Iran to apologise for arresting the UK ambassador.

She argued that the arrest of the ambassador goes against the Vienna convention, an agreement Iran has continued to violate.

Coxiblaqnews earlier reported that the government of Iran had admitted that its military made an “unforgivable mistake” in unintentionally shooting down a Ukrainian jetliner, which killed all 176 people onboard.

President Hassan Rouhani said the country's armed forces’ internal investigation has concluded that missiles regrettably fired due to human error caused the horrific crash of the Ukrainian plane and death of 176 innocent people.

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine also demanded for a thorough investigation, full admission of guilt and compensation from Iran for shooting down its passenger aircraft.
